Dr. D. Terrell Watts has been serving as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church for 12 years now. He
received his undergraduate degree in music from UNC Charlotte, and proceeded to receive both an M. Div. and a D. Min from
Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Commonly referred to as "Preacher" Watts, he and his wife Janice
have three children; Melodie, Wes, and Sarah. Dr. Watts helped to start the Oakboro School of Music 6 years ago,

Dana Bucher Jenkins joins First Baptist Church Oakboro on the staff as Director of Student Activities and Family
Ministries. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana where her mother and father were in New Orleans Baptist Seminary. She grew
up in a loving Christian home. She graduated with Music Education and Vocal Performance major from Gardner-Webb College and
married Craig L. Jenkins of Shelby, North Carolina. They have two children; Jessica, who is 20 years old, and Daniel
who is 13 years old. Their family loves to worship, go on mountain trips and play basketball.
Janice Watts was the daughter of Preacher Cooke, and ended up marrying
Terrell who would become a preacher. After raising 3 beautiful and talented children, she now fills her time by leading
the Music Ministries of First Baptist Oakboro. When she is not directing, she helps with the Monday afternoon children's
choir, teaches beginning piano and serves as a member of the ladies ensemble and handbell choir.
Delinda has served as secretary for 18 years. She is the
polite voice that will usually greet your phone calls to the church office. She has been married to her husband Donnie
for 26 years, and they have twin 20-year-olds, Halee and Wesley. She attends St. Stephens Wesleyan Church where
